As part of a cooperation agreement between the Oymaağaç-Nerik Archaeological Research Project, FU Berlin (Institute of Ancient Oriental Studies)/Uşak Üniversitesi and the Photogrammetry Laboratory at Department III of Beuth HS (now Berlin University of Applied Sciences), numerous archaeological finds and features on the Oymaağaç Höyük (Türkiye) were documented three-dimensionally using photogrammetric methods from 2011 to 2019.
On this basis, numerous 3D models could be calculated and combined in the photogrammetry laboratory resulting in comprehensive, three-dimensional overall documentation of the excavation mound, the underground structure with spring chamberr and individual finds (graves, wet timbers). The results were realised in the form of 3D point clouds as well as textured surface models. In addition, the the location of the Hittite temple complexes was integrated into the 3D models.
Die Ergebnisse aus der Photogrammetrie wurden im Labor für Geomedien zur Visualisierung über einen Internet-Browser (Potree Viewer for large pointclouds und BabylonJS für Oberflächenmodelle) aufbereitet. Auch mittels VR-Equipment (Meta Quest und weitere 3D-Brillen) können die 3D-Daten der Grabung nun virtuell betrachtet und erkundet werden.
Zusätzlich ist auf Basis der 3D-Punktwolke eine geführte Audiotour entstanden, die detaillierte Informationen zu Einzelaspekten der Befunde und Funde vermittelt. Weiterhin wurden 3D-Modelle einzelner Fundstücke zur Betrachtung und Analyse als 3D.pdf generiert und ein 3D-Druck des unterirdischen Bauwerkes angefertigt.
